Most building professionals are aware that huge amounts of energy are still being wasted every day in homes due to  inefficient heating and cooling systems and water heating equipment, leaky duct work, poorly insulated and air sealed attics, walls and basements. However, the science and technology have improved significantly over the past decade.

With attention to detail, coupled with knowledge and a commitment to do a job correctly, the benefits for your customer include lower utility bills, better comfort, improved air quality,  increased moisture control and less negative impact on the environment.

To enhance your awareness of new products and methodologies, a unique year-long class, “High Performance Building” is being sponsored by the HBAGTA, Kingsley Lumber & Hardware, and Strickland Ewing & Associates beginning in January 2019. It is intended to provide building industry professionals with information about the newest techniques and products that can benefit your customers, our community and the environment.

The course will utilize the book Musings of an Energy Nerd: Toward an Energy Efficient Home by Martin Holladay published by Taunton Press which will be provided. Martin is among the most respected journalist in the field of green building. See Martin Holladay’s bio on the HBA website at
